Peapod by Stop and Shop is my new favorite find as a busy mom. I used to think going grocery shopping was relaxing. Even when I had my first, I didn’t mind going even if I had her with me. Now, even if I had the opportunity to go alone, it seems like such a chore and time I could spend doing something more productive. Because grocery shopping usually takes at least an hour of my time, being able to schedule a pick up time and still go about my day as usual was worth the $2.

How to Use Peapod by Stop and Shop
So I decided to use Peapod by Stop and Shop because 1) I typically shop at Stop and Shop, 2) my debit card was expiring and I wasn’t sure if it would work in store, 3) I really wanted to try out ordering groceries.
Grab your stop and shop card, pull up the site, and get ready to shop.
The first thing you have to do is actually find yourself at Peapod. Then, before you do anything else, add your stop and shop card number in the lefthand side of the site. You want to do this because, as creepy as it may sound at first, they track each item you purchase when you use your Stop and Shop card. BUT the convenience in it is that if you buy the same thing every time or in a rotation, you don’t even have to spend time compiling a cart online.
Browse through your recently purchased items or through each online “aisle”.
Quickly and easily search for what items you’re looking for regardless of if it’s something you typically buy or something new you’re looking to add. Once you have used it once or twice, you can easily create lists. So say you go on a 4 week rotation for meal planning, you can easily create four separate shopping lists to quickly add for Peapod by Stop and Shop to gather for you.
Choose your pick-up time and location or delivery time.
I like to choose to pick up my groceries because it’s only a dollar or two if I am doing a digital check payment. Plus, I can schedule time at a playground or something out with the girls and then pick it up on my way home. Simply drive up to the Stop and Shop you chose and look for the large locker-type storage units on the side of the building that mention ordering and picking up groceries. You can park there and someone will load the groceries for you into the car. (I did not know this prior to ordering, so I got out and had to ask at Customer Service).
If your order is messed up even when you get home:
Simply go in to the store at the counter and let them know what happened. I once got only one pound of ground beef instead of two. It was no big deal. They had me print and sign my name on a form for them to get it sorted out and on record and they just had me go back and pick up another pound. All sorted out in 5 minutes or less. I also have gotten hamburger buns when I ordered hot dog buns. But again, it was just a minor mistake when overall the process is wonderful.
