While there are some toys that kids seem to remember their entires lives, most of our fondest childhood memories are the moments and the memories made together as a family. Specific to our area, Boston experience gifts seek to make those memories and also reduce some of the clutter in your home as well.

Make memories instead of collecting "things" by gifting and experience gift local to Boston. Here are ideas and practical ways to make it something that can be wrapped.

Affiliate links included for your convenience. Thanks for purchasing so we can afford to make our own memories in Boston!

Not only are these some great Boston Experience gifts, but I have tried to include some ideas of practical tangible gifts to make each memory gift something easy to wrap up for Christmas or birthday.

Tickets, Passes, and Experiential Gifts in Boston

Boston Red Sox tickets for the Entire family

Arguably one of the most beloved sports teams anywhere is the Boston Red Sox. And with the experience that comes with getting ballpark food and spending a lazy day at the field watching a baseball game, it’s sure to be a great gift for any kid or even adult in your life. You can even take a ballpark tour.

How to Gift it: Wrap up one of many Boston Red Sox Books or maybe even a simple pair of red socks to announce that you’ll be going to a game!

Tickets for the Downeaster for a weekend

Even if you just want to go for a day, it’s a fun adventure to ride on a train. For kids, it’s an exciting experience even being on the tracks, let alone the fun you can have at your destination, regardless of where you choose to go. For adults, it’s great quality time to talk, read, or get things done instead of driving.

How to Gift it: Pick up a copy of the book Train to Maine and write the surprise inside. Not only does the book prepare the family, but it can be a way to relive it over and over. Or, get a single toy train to unwrap.

Gift a favorite Boston Museum Pass

There are SO many great museums for kids throughout the area. And since many also have reciprocal agreements with other museums, it saves money when the family wants to visit a different one. So whether you’re buying one for your own kids or for a family you love, it’s a thoughtful gift to give them an entire year of fun.

Favorite museums for kids in Boston include:

Boston Children’s Museum
Boston Museum of Science
New England Aquarium

How to gift it: Wrap up a bubble play set to enjoy at home if gifting the Boston Children’s Museum (because there’s a bubble room). Get a small star-gazing chart or even a telescope for the Museum of Science because they have a planetarium. And gift an ocean puzzle for the New England Aquarium (for obvious reasons).

Plan a Boston Staycation for a week

If you haven’t heard of the Go Boston Card, it’s a great way to save money by seeing all the great attractions around town. The catch? It has to be consecutive days in a row to get your 55+% discount. So instead of going somewhere for vacation, plan to stay here in Boston and buy these passes to enjoy as much of the city as possible.

How to gift it: Wrap up a new SD card for your camera or maybe even a gift card for printing pictures after your great week of fun. Or find your favorite Boston-oriented children’s book from this list to gift it.

Eat your heart out at the Boston Chocolate Bar

Are you a chocoholic, I mean, do you really love chocolate? This is the place for you.

How to gift it: Maybe wrap up a bag of veggies, because you might need a week of detoxing. Or the obvious choice would be to get your recipient’s favorite chocolate bar.

These all look like such great ideas! I especially love that most of the gifting ideas involve books! We always give something to read for Christmas, so these ideas j Just make the book gift even better!
